Patricia M. Lange, age 84, of Platteville, died Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at Meriter Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin. Patricia was born to William H. and Edith M. Brinkley on September 8, 1930 in Quincy, Illinois. Pat graduated from LaCrosse High School in 1948, and then from UW LaCrosse with a teaching degree in 1951. On June 21, 1953 Pat was united in marriage to Russell M. Lange in LaCrosse. They made their home in Platteville where they raised their family.
She was active in the community as a Cub Scout leader, the Hospital Womens Auxiliary, a Red Cross volunteer, and was a regular on the Wednesday Afternoon Bowling League. Pat was a long time member of the First English Lutheran Church where she served in many capacities. At home she enjoyed gardening, sewing, needlecrafts, and the outdoors.
On March 24, 2012 Pat married John P. Klosterman, formerly of Platteville. They have enjoyed traveling and visiting their extended families.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Russell M. Lange on July 21, 1998.
She is survived by her husband, John Klosterman; daughter, Amy (Jeff) Liddle of Chugiak, AK; two sons: Tim (Sue) Lange of Milton, WI, and Ted (Mary) Lange of Apopka, FL; seven grandchildren, Brian (Kristi) Liddle of Henderson, NV, Kelsey (David) Horne St. Louis, MO, Grant Lange of Appleton, WI, David Lange of Janesville, WI and Parker, Vanessa, and Katie Lange of Apopka, FL; a brother-in-law, Chuck (Ellen) Lange of Santa Fe, NM; and nephew Jonathan Lange and niece Jennifer Lange.
Funeral Services were held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, October 25, 2014, at First English Lutheran Church in Platteville, with Reverend Michael Short officiating. A light luncheon immediately followed. Burial was in Hillside Cemetery, Platteville. Friends called from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services Saturday at the church. Martin Schwartz Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Platteville is assisting the family.
In lieu of flowers, a Patricia M. Lange Memorial Fund has been established to benefit the programs of the First English Lutheran Church and the Meriter Health Foundation.
