Patrica Smith

Patrica A. Smith, age 72, of Prairie du Chien, died on Tuesday, August 25, 2015, at her residence in Prairie du Chien. Pat was born on February 23, 1943, in Lancaster, the daughter of Harley and Esther (Brandemuehl) Foster. On April 2, 1977, she married Dr. Clifford Smith. Together they spent many years raising Appaloosa horses in rural Prairie du Chien. Clifford preceded her in death on May 11, 2010. In later years, she enjoyed planting flowers, watching the birds and other wild life that visited her home. Pat also enjoyed scrapbooking, card stamping, relaxing in the pool, and camping parties with her family at her home.

In addition to her parents and Clifford, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Jim Mitchell.

Survivors include her sister, Dolores Reed; a brother, Jack Foster, both of Lancaster; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, August 29, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at Schwartz Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Lancaster with Pastor Mark Hoehne officiating. Burial was in Hillside Cemetery, Lancaster. Family and friends called on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
