Norma J. Andrews, age 87, of Wauwatosa formerly of Bloomington and New Berlin, passed away on Friday, April 03, 2015, at St. Camillus Nursing Home in Wauwatosa. She was born on June 1, 1927, in Bloomington, the daughter of Herman and Julia (Trumm) Krogman. On August 17, 1949, Norma was united in marriage to Carl C. Andrews at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bloomington. He preceded her in death in 2008.
Norma attended St. Mary's Catholic School and Bloomington High School in Bloomington, then went on to get a teaching degree at Platteville State Teachers College. She taught English at Rio High School, Bloomington High School, and Lane Junior High School in West Allis. She was a voracious reader and always had at least two crosswords going "to keep from getting bored". Her family meant everything to her, particularly her grandchildren.
Survivors include her children: David (Sandra) Andrews and Nancy (Robert) Reitman; five grandchildren: Michael (Marisa) Berndt, Megan (Jason) Mays, Benjamin Andrews, Samuel Berndt, and Ryan (Lori) Andrews;six great-grandchildren: Amaya Berndt, Avery, Winston, and Harrison Mays, Trey Linski, and Charles Andrews; brothers: Jim Krogman, Paul (Nelda) Krogman, Tom (Evie) Krogman, Father Phil Krogman; sisters-in-law: Jean Krogman, Ruth Eckerman, and Iva (Dave) Modrich; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Carl, Norma was preceded in death by a brother, Ernest; sisters-in-law, Mary Krogman and Elaine Andrews; brothers-in-law, Fran Eckerman, Lee (Elaine) Andrews, and Glen Andrews; a niece, Patti Schroeder, and a nephew, Glen Hawley.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Wednesday, April 8, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bloomington with Father Philip Krogman and Father John Meinholz officiating. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery, Bloomington. Family and friends called on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until time of services at the church. In lieu of plants and flowers, donations are preferred to Special Olympics in memory of Norma J. Andrews. Martin Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Bloomington is assisting the family.
