Norbert Edward Kelly, age 79, of Lancaster, passed away Thursday night, April 19, 2013, at UW Hospital in Madison. He was born on February 3, 1934, the son of Henry and Mathilda (Pink) Kelly.
Norbert loved to drive his Farmall H (1942), play cards, and spend time with friends and family. He farmed for many years until his move to town, upon which he was employed by the City of Lancaster for many more years. Norb touched people in a positive way that will not be forgotten.
Surviving are his daughters: Ann (Brian) Miesen, Platteville; Kim (Ray) Coleman, Verona; three grandsons: Chandler Miesen, Desmond Miesen and Hayden Coleman; his sisters, Ruth Fleming, Gays Mills and Kathleen Kelly, San Diego, CA.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers-in-law.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Friday, April 26, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Clement Catholic Church in Lancaster with Father William Seipp officiating. Burial was in St. Clement Cemetery, Lancaster. Family and friends called on Thursday, April 25, 2013, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Schwartz Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Lancaster and on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the church.
The family would like to extend a very special thank you to the Lancaster Rescue Squad, the staff at Grant Regional Health Center and UW Madison Hospital. Also, special thanks for all the prayers, visits and offers to assist us in our time of sorrow.
