Nancy J. Nalepinski, age71, passed away on July 27, 2011 after a long illness. She was born in Prairie du Chien, WI on February 20, 1940 to Bernie & Janis (Jamison) Willkomm.
After graduation from Cassville High School in 1958, she attended UW-Platteville where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in education in 1962. It is there that she met and fell in love with her future husband, Jim.
She began her teaching career in Monroe where she taught English and Spanish. She later became a stay-at-home mom to her three children. When the youngest child started school, she returned to teaching at the Lancaster Pre-School based at the United Methodist Church and then became its director, where she stayed for fourteen years.
After her retirement, she returned to UW-Platteville and earned her Masters degree in counseling in 1996. She worked as a guidance counselor for the Catholic School System in Dubuque, Iowa and then worked for the Bureau for the Blind. She also spent some time working the phones at Lands End.
Her favorite pastimes included knitting, theatre, her Red Hatters Group, the Cubs, prayer group, and most of all, spending time with her friends and family, especially her grandchildren (Sonya, Claire, Grayson, Danna, Drew, Nicholas, Gabriella and Parker).
She was a long time member of both the Lancaster United Methodist Church and the Lancaster Community Players. In her time here, she touched many, many lives. She never met a person she didnt like. She will be greatly missed.
Nancy is survived by her husband Jim, three children, Andy (Tara), Julie (Dave) Lenzendorf, Wendy (Scott) Klicko, 8 grandchildren and five brothers, Bruce (Carole), Wayne, David, Jeff (J.P.) and Shawn.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral Services were held on Sunday, July 31, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. at United Methodist Church in Lancaster with Pastor Barbara Cook officiating. Private family burial will be held at a later date. Family and friends called on Saturday, July 30, 2011, from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Schwartz Funeral Home in Lancaster and on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until time of services at the church.
