Nancy V. Bontreger

CASSVILLE – Nancy V. Bontreger, age 70, of Cassville, WI, passed away on Saturday, November 30, 2024, at Unity Point Health Finley Hospital in Dubuque, IA, with her husband by her side. She was born on March 11, 1954, in Dubuque, IA. The daughter of Donald and Evelyn (McQuiston) Fluetsch. Nancy attended school in Cassville, WI, and graduated from Cassville High School in 1972. She furthered her education at University of Wisconsin Eau Claire and Lakeland Medical Academy in Minneapolis, MN. On March 10, 1973, Nancy was united in marriage to Larry Bontreger. One daughter was born to this union, Janet. After their marriage, they resided in Minneapolis, MN, where Nancy was employed at Norwest Bank, Dayton’s, and several limousine companies. They moved back to Cassville, WI in 2020 to retire. She enjoyed Vanning and traveling, crafting, fishing, gardening, volunteering, music, cheering for the MN Vikings, and raising birds. She was a member of Suburban Corvettes, Backpack Project MN, Democratic Party, multiple Women’s Fishing groups, Lions, Hennepin Co. Horticulture, and had a major role in Twin City Vans Inc. van club. She was proud to have visited each state in the Union, was able to race her Corvette, and that she and her family were active members of Twin City Vans, Inc. for 45 years.

Survivors include her loving husband, Larry; their daughter, Janet (Patrick) Townsend; her mother, Evelyn Fluetsch; brothers in-law: Alvin (Robin) Bontreger, and Dale (Sharon) Bontreger; Nephews: Ricky (Heather) Bontreger, Casey Bontreger; Nieces: Abby Bontreger, Amber (Daniel) Fernburg, Ashley Kuhn, Kimberly (Andy) Marinelli, Tamie Patcle, and many great nieces and nephews.

Nancy was preceded in death by her father, Donald Fluetsch.

A Celebration of Life will be held in Cassville, Wisconsin and Crystal, Minnesota at a later date. Martin Schwartz Funeral Home & Crematory in Cassville is assisting the family.
