Nancy J. Adams

Nancy J. Adams, age 48, of Potosi, died on Thursday, May 26, 2011, at Orchard Manor Nursing Home, Lancaster, following a courageous seven year battle with heart disease. She was born on January 22, 1963, the daughter of Richard and Marlene (Fritz) Keene. Nancy graduated from Potosi High School in 1981. On November 5, 1983, she was united in marriage to Patrick J. Adams at Davies Memorial United Church of Christ in Potosi. Nancy was employed at Federal Land Bank, Union Bank and Trust, Foremost Farms, and most recently, as a secretary in the Physical Therapy Department at Grant Regional Health Center. She was a member of Davies Memorial United Church of Christ. Nancy dearly loved her family and keeping up with their activities. She enjoyed being outdoors on the farm, and the company of her two cats, Chippy and Mason. Nancy will always be remembered for her infectious laughter and smile.

Survivors include her husband, Patrick Adams, Potosi; children: Sarah Adams, Oregon; Bradley Adams, Potosi; her parents, Richard and Marlene Keene, Potosi; her sisters, Peggy (Bob) Miller, Lancaster; Carol (Jack) Hayes, Verona; Sheila (Rick Wedig) Keene, DeForest; brother, Richard Keene, Jr., Potosi; her mother-in-law, Jean Adams, Lancaster; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Nancy was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Kristine Keene, and her father-in-law, Mark Adams.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, June 1, 2011, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Clement Catholic Church in Lancaster with Pastor Petra Streiff officiating. Burial was in British Hollow Cemetery, Potosi. Family and friends called on Tuesday, May 31, 2011, from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at St. Clement Catholic Church in Lancaster and on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until time of services at the church. Martin Funeral Home in Potosi is assisting the family. In lieu of plants and flowers, a Nancy J. Adams Memorial Fund has been established.
