Muriel G. Uridil, age 93, of Bagley, passed away Tuesday, January 13, 2009, after a brief illness at Lakeview Continuing Care Center in Lawton, MI. She was born on May 10, 1915, the daughter of Charles and Mae (Hoffman) Moore, on the family farm in Bagley. On June 5, 1935, Muriel was united in marriage to Louis J. Uridil in Bloomington. After their marriage, the couple farmed the family farm until their retirement in 1998. Muriel was a graduate of the Bloomington High School in 1932. She was an active member of the Bloomington United Methodist Church and the Ruth Circle. She also was a member of the Rebecca Lodge. Muriel loved farming and was actively involved until retirement. She enjoyed attending auctions and flea markets and loved her gardens, both vegetables and flowers. She was active in a lot of hobbies and loved to fish. After retiring from the farm, she delivered the area Shopping News for over twenty-five years, which she enjoyed so much. Sometimes she would pack a lunch and stop at a park or would do a little fishing at one of her favorite fishing spots. Muriel also enjoyed taking someone with her to visit with along the way. She enjoyed family gatherings and picnics and taking trips with family and friends.
Survivors include her two sons: Charles (Charlene) Uridil, Paw Paw, MI; Robert (Beth) Uridil, Bagley; four grandchildren: Glenn Uridil and Sara Singleton, Paw Paw, MI; Anne Uridil, Carolina, Puerto Rico; and Tim Uridil, Appleton; two great-grandchildren: Christy and Kimberly Singleton, Paw Paw, MI; a sister: Betty (Burdette) Cathman, Fennimore; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Muriel was preceded in death by her husband and a brother, Melvin Moore.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, January 17, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. at the Martin Funeral Home in Bloomington with Pastor Mary Ann Floerke officiating. Burial was in Union Nagle Cemetery, Patch Grove. Friends called on Saturday, January 17, 2009, from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
