Michele M. Stanton

Michele Marie Stanton, age 54, of Lancaster, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 27, 2009 at Grant Regional Health Center in Lancaster. She was born on December 4, 1954, the daughter of Don and Ruth (Kilgore) Anderson in Estherville, IA. Michele graduated from Maquoketa High School in Iowa and from Finley School of Nursing. She was united in marriage to Gary Stanton on August 2, 1975. She loved to spend her time knitting, sewing and enjoying the outdoors. Her biggest love was her children and especially her grandchildren. She will be forever missed.

Michele is survived by her loving husband of 34 years, Gary, Lancaster; her children: Jake (Sandy) Stanton, Round Lake Beach, IL and Sara (Aaron) Peterson, Fennimore; her grandchildren: Brandon Stanton and Aidan Peterson; her parents, Don and Ruth Anderson, Maquoketa; two brothers and one sister: Mike (DeAnna) Anderson, Mark Anderson and Mona (Craig) Moeller, all of Eldridge, IA; many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 31, 2009 at Christ Lutheran Church in Lancaster with Reverend David Froemming officiating. Burial of cremains will be held at a later date. Family and friends called from 4:30 until 7:30 p.m. on Friday, October 30, 2009, at the Martin Funeral Home in Lancaster and from 10:00 a.m. until time of services Saturday at the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations made to the Lancaster Rescue Squad.
