Mary M. Eckstein

Mary M. Eckstein, age 89, of Cassville, passed away on Sunday, March 5, 2017, at her home. She was born on January 26, 1928, the daughter of Raymond "Penny" J. and Myra M. (Lindner) Eckstein. Mary graduated from Cassville High School and furthered her education at Marquette University in Milwaukee, earning a degree in Education. Upon graduation, she was employed at Whitewater University as a teacher/librarian. Mary was a lifelong member of St. Charles Catholic Church in Cassville. She enjoyed biking, swimming, collecting, and playing the slot machines.

Mary is survived by her loving brother, Ray Eckstein and his wife, Kay, Paducah, KY; nieces and nephews: Joanne Eckstein Doldatto, Chattanooga, TN; Randy Eckstein, New Orleans, LA; Sue Homra, Paducah, KY; Cindy (Erickson) Zaninovich, Paducah, KY; Teresa Eckstein, Paducah, KY; Joe Eckstein, Jacksonville, FL; John Eckstein, Paducah, KY.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by a niece, Mary Kay Eckstein.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Thursday, March 9, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Charles Catholic Church in Cassville with Father John Meinholz officiating. Burial was in St. Charles Cemetery, Cassville. Family and friends called on Thursday from 12:00 noon until time of services at the church. In lieu of plants and flowers, the family suggests memorials be given to St. Charles Cemetery, Cassville. Martin Schwartz Funeral Home & Crematory in Cassville is entrusted with services.
