Mary Lou Hauck, age 66, of Lancaster, died on Tuesday, December 15, 2009, at Grant Regional Health Center in Lancaster. She was born on July 11, 1943, in Burton, the daughter of Ned and Marcella (Kirschbaum) McDonald. She was raised in Cassville. On November 25, 1961, Mary Lou was united in marriage to Gerald W. Hauck at St. Charles Catholic Church in Cassville. She enjoyed crocheting and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Mary Lou was employed at Loudspeaker Component Corp., Hardees and McDonalds in Lancaster. She was a member of St. Clement Church.
Survivors include her four children: Tammy (Mark) Drew, Mt. Hope; Theresa (Darrell) Caley, Beetown; Cindy (Travis) Slama, Marquette, IA; Jerry W. (Gretchen) Hauck, Jr., Dodgeville; six grandchildren: Missy (Dean) Buss, Holden Miller-Hauck, James Slama, Ariana Hauck, Lily Hauck, and Trent Fordney; her brothers: Roger (Mary Kay) McDonald, Cassville; Jack (Dee) McDonald, Potosi; a sister-in-law, Janis (Darrell) Ludvick, Prairie du Chien; brothers-in-law, Richard (Harriet) Hauck, Lancaster; Bernie (Jan) McCartney, Tacoma, WA; and a special friend, Doug Glass, Bagley.
In addition to her parents, Mary Lou was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald on January 10, 2006; her mother and father-in-law, Helene and Elgie McCartney, her brother, Phil McDonald, and sister and brother-in-law, Karen and Richard Kann as well as her beloved dog, Princess.
Funeral services were held on Friday, December 18, 2009, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Clement Catholic Church in Lancaster with Father William Seipp officiating. Burial was in St. Clement Cemetery, Lancaster. Friends called on Thursday, December 17, 2009, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Schwartz Funeral Home in Lancaster and from 9:30 a.m. until time of services on Friday at the funeral home.
