Mary J. Olson

 Mary J. Olson, age 52, of Platteville, died Friday, December 26, 2008 at her home in Platteville. She was born on July 2, 1956, the daughter of Keith and Margaret Young in  Mt. Clemens,  MI. Mary graduated from  Cedar Rapids Prairie High School in 1974. She was united in marriage to Larry A. Olson on December 28, 1998. Mary worked as a CNA for Crestridge Nursing Home in  Maquoketa, IA, Grays Nursing Home and Home Care To You. She enjoyed crocheting and writing to her many pen pals.

Mary is survived by her husband, Larry, Platteville; her two children, Chris McCloy, Anamosa, IA and Shelly McCloy, Maquoketa, IA; her mother, Margaret (Don) Pidimas, Ankeny, IA; 10 brothers and sisters, Kim Ramos, Des Moines, IA, Rachael Janelle, Riverside, CA, Keith (Sara) Young, Spanway, WA, Neil Young, Great Falls, MT, Christie (Jason) Poole, Pleasant Hill, IA, Bob (Diane) Wido, Charity Voelker, Chicago, IL, Angela (Tobias) Brown, London, U.K., Kathy (Mike) Hiden, Corona, CA and Rodney (Joan) Young, Mt. Vernon, IA; two brothers-in-law, Steve (Sue) Olson, Asbury, IA and Jim Olson, Hazelton, IA; an uncle, Ron Young, Cedar Rapids, IA; many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father and a her sister.

Funeral services were held at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, December 30, 2008 at First English Church in Platteville with the Reverend Michael Short and Intern Kalen Barkholtz officiating. Family and friends were welcome from 10:00 a.m. until time of services Tuesday at the church. Burial of cremains will be held at a later date. Martin Schwartz Funeral Home in Platteville is serving the family.
