Mary I. Hoffman

Mary I. Hoffman, age 84, of Lancaster, passed away Sunday August 30, 2015 surrounded by her loving family at her home. She was born on June 29, 1931, the daughter of Clarence and Rose (Henseler) Tiber. Mary graduated from Tomah High School and attended nursing school in Marshfield, WI. She married LeRoy A. Hoffman on June 10, 1953, at St. James Catholic Church in Camp Douglas, WI. After their marriage, the couple moved to New Mexico while LeRoy served in the United States Air Force. They returned to Tomah, where Mary was employed as a nurse's aide. Upon moving to Lancaster, she raised her family as a wonderful mother. In retirement, Mary was employed at Dick's Supermarket. She was a member of St. Clement Catholic Church and the Catholic Daughters of America Court of St. Rita #670. Mary enjoyed going to auctions, garage sales, crafting, and her garden. She loved keeping up with her family and their activities.

Survivors include her husband, LeRoy; their children: Linda (Bernie) Adrian; Mark, David (Melody), James (Terre) Hoffman; Colleen (David) Landon; Angela (Donald) Pagenkopf; Kurt Hoffman; 17 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; her siblings: Carol Walcker; Curtis (Ellen), Thomas (Vicki) Tiber; a brother-in-law, James Menke; many nieces and nephews.

Mary was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Debra; her sister, Eileen Menke; a brother-in-law, Don Walcker.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, September 3, 2015, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Clement Catholic Church in Lancaster with Reverend John Sasse officiating. Burial was in St. Clement Cemetery, Lancaster. Family and friends called on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until time of services at the church. In lieu of plants and flowers, a Mary I. Hoffman Memorial Fund has been established. Schwartz Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Lancaster is serving the family.
