Mary Elizabeth (Williams) Hore, age 87, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 20, 2022, surrounded by family, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin. Mary was born in Lancaster, Wisconsin on August 10, 1935, the daughter of Ralph and Esther (Kaap) Williams. On August 27, 1955, she married James L. Hore and they were married for 65 years. Mary worked as a paralegal at McNamara, Reinicke, Vogelsberg & Helmke for approximately 40 years and loved her job. Mary was a member of the Congregational Church in Lancaster and had strong faith. Mary enjoyed playing cards, watching Wisconsin sports, especially basketball, reading, and spending time with her family.
Mary is survived by her daughter, Pauline (Jeff) Rice, son Thomas (Anne) Hore and daughter-in-law Jean (Heer) Hore; four grandchildren, Ben (Nina) Rice, Samantha (Bob) Adams, Justin (Kate) Hore and Jena (Dylan) Siegenthaler, six great-grandchildren, Olivia, Rosalie and Brayden Rice, August Adams and Ryker and Ada Siegenthaler and Carter Hore; one sister, Patricia (Clarence) Lee, and one sister-in-law: Grace Lorscheter, along with many nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jim, her son Bill Hore, her granddaughter MaKayla Hore, her stepbrother Jack Sutliff and his wife Arlene, and three brothers-in-law: Matt Lorscheter, James (Josephine "Jo") Faherty and Eugene Hore, and sister-in-law Lureen Hore.
A celebration of life for Mary and her late husband Jim will be held on Saturday, September 9, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 pm. at Martin Schwartz Funeral Home & Crematory in Lancaster.
