Mary "Betty" Elizabeth Droullard, age 90, of Lancaster, passed away Saturday, July 25, 2015 at Manor Care Health Services in Platteville. Mary was born on June 1, 1925 in Newburyport, MA, to Otis & Mary (O'Connor) Burrell.
Mary worked for a factory during World War II for the war effort. Mary's brother Norman, who served during the war, introduced her to his best friend, Francis A. Droullard. After the war, on November 17, 1945, she married Francis in Amesbury, MA. They moved to Francis' hometown of Lancaster in 1946. They built a house at 1049 West Cherry Street and had four children they raised together. Mary lived in Lancaster until 2013 when she moved to Manor Care in Platteville.
Mary loved spending time with all of her children & grandchildren, and enjoyed playing bingo, euchre, gardening, and baking.
Mary is survived by her son, Bruce (Donna) Droullard, Readfield, ME; her daughters, Susan (Bob) McLimans, Napoleon, OH, Nancy (Bill) Gozsinski, Waukesha, and Kathy Key, Platteville; a brother, Norman Burrell, Amesbury, MA; ten grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis in 2006; her parents; a grandson, Rob McLimans; two brothers, William and Donald Burrell; and a son-in-law, Jack Key, Jr.
Funeral Services were held at 12:00 noon on Friday, July 31, 2015, at Schwartz Funeral Home in Lancaster, with Pastor Christopher Droullard officiating. Friends called one hour prior to the service. Private burial was in Hillside Cemetery in Lancaster. Schwartz Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Lancaster is assisting the family.
