Marie M. Mccann

Marie M. McCann, age 89, of Cassville, daughter of Joseph and Christine (Kirschbaum) Schauff, was the last to leave this world and join her four brothers and four sisters on Saturday, February 3, 2018, at Stonehill Care Center in Dubuque, IA. She was born on May 14, 1928, in Cassville, and attended Cassville country school. Marie resided in Cassville all her life until the last six months when she became a resident of Stone Hill Care Center in Dubuque, IA. On November 8, 1951, Marie was united in marriage to Patrick G. McCann at St. Charles Catholic Church in Cassville. Marie enjoyed her employment at Stonefield Village and a good game of Euchre. She was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church and its church circle.

Survivors include her children: Larry, Susan and Timothy (Christine) McCann; 7 grandchildren: Marcy, Molly, and Mindy; Christian and Andrew; Teresa and Katie; 11 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Margaret Schauff; other relatives and many friends.

In addition to her parents, Marie was preceded in death by her husband, loving father and grandfather, Patrick G. McCann in 1992; her siblings: Lawrence (Dorothy), Leonard (Frances), Clarence and LeRoy (Pat) Schauff, Alice (Ken) Ritenour, Rosie (Maurice) Unterscheidt, Eunice (Harold) Richards, and Esther (Earl) Hiatt.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, February 8, 2018, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Charles Catholic Church in Cassville with Father John Meinholz officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Settlement Cemetery, Cassville. Family and friends may call on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until 11:15 a.m. at Martin Schwartz Funeral Home & Crematory in Cassville. In lieu of plants and flowers, memorials can be made to the family where they will donate to local charities.
