Marie C. Metcalf, age 104, of Lancaster, formerly of Glen Haven, died on Tuesday, October 23, 2012, at the Lancaster Care Center with Donald and Doloris by her side. She was born on September 13, 1908, in  Glen Haven Township, the daughter of John and Anna (Walz) Vogt. Marie attended  Ramsey School and St. Marys  Catholic School in Glen Haven. She married Allen Metcalf on January 7, 1930, at St. Marys Catholic Church in Glen Haven by Reverend Peter Beshta. Together they farmed in  Glen Haven Township on the former Leo Harsh farm. Marie was a former member of St. Marys Catholic Church and its Altar Society in Glen Haven and a current member of St. Clement Catholic Church in Lancaster.

Survivors include her son, Donald (Deloris) Metcalf, Cassville; four grandchildren: Bruce (Amy) Metcalf, Dallas, TX; Cynthia Metcalf, Platteville; Virginia (Thomas) Johnson and Charlene (Timothy) Schmitz, all of Bloomington; seven great-grandchildren: Charles Metcalf, Fulton, IL; Matthew Metcalf, Milwaukee; Mikayla Metcalf, Dallas TX; Patrick and Paula Johnson, Sara (Curtis) Hullermann, and David Schmitz, all of Bloomington; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and loving friends.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Allen, Marie was preceded in death by a daughter, Doris Bradley; one son-in-law, Walter Bradley; one sister, Melvina; two brothers, Francis and Virgil Vogt; one great-niece, Shirley Vogt; a great-granddaughter, Jodi Metcalf; and two sisters-in-law: Freda Vogt and Ann (Vogt) Cadwell.

Funeral services were held on Friday, October 26, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Marys Catholic Church in Glen Haven with Father John Meinholz and Father William Seipp officiating. Burial was in Charlotte  Cemetery, Glen Haven Township. Family and friends called on Thursday, October 25, 2012, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home in Cassville and on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until10:15 a.m. at the funeral home.
