Marguerite Voth Ryan, age 96, died on Tuesday, February 25, 2014, at the Lancaster Care Center in Lancaster, Wisconsin. She was born on June 21, 1917, to Clem and Josephine (Stephan) Voth. The majority of her life she resided in Prairie du Chien, WI. Marguerite taught at both St. Johns Catholic School and Prairie du Chien Elementary School. She loved her 3rd and 4th grade students. Upon retirement, she taught adult basic education in the Opportunity and Personal Development Center and was active on the Prairie du Chien Library Board. She later moved to Lancaster, Wisconsin to be close to her daughter, Peg. Marguerite remained an avid reader, enjoyed dining out, shopping, potato chips, chocolate and her brandy and 7-Up.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Pat Ryan.

Survivors include a son, John (Sara) Ryan of Prairie du Chien, a daughter, Mary Ryan (Robert Roper) of Baltimore, MD and a daughter, Peg Ryan of Lancaster, a grandson, David (Chris) Ryan and granddaughter, Anne Busacca-Ryan. Also surviving are her four legged family, Hannah and Flannigan McGuire Ryan.

A celebration of Marguerites life and legacy was held at the Lancaster Care Center on Thursday, February 27, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lancaster Library Fund. Martin Funeral Home in Lancaster is assisting the family.
