Margot Hilde Shaben, age 67, passed away Monday, March 6, 2017, at Grant Regional Health Center in Lancaster. She was born December 12, 1949, in Heidelberg, Germany, the daughter of Kellners J. and Anneliese I. (Pister) Hann. Margot lived in Germany until the age of eleven. On August 16, 1960, she entered the United States with her mother, Anneliese and step-father, Randel Pierce. They lived throughout the United States, depending upon where her step-father was stationed with the United States Army, eventually moving to Fitchburg, Massachusetts. When her daughter, Shirley, moved to the Cassville area in 1991, Margot soon followed. She married Harry R. Shaben on April 10, 2000, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Margot enjoyed crocheting, playing Bingo, and traveling to Las Vegas. She dearly loved her children, grandchildren and keeping up with their activities.
Survivors include her husband, Harry; her children: Annelise (Andy) Chase; Steven (Donna) Crawford; Shirley (Gregory) Sletten; Ronald King; her brothers: Richard (Betty), Michael, John (Michelle), Jimmy Pierce; a sister, Debra (Mark) Shepard; 17 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; stepchildren: Debra (Bill) Krantz; Dana (Rindy), Harry W. (Maureen), Joe (Courtney), Heather and Eric Shaben;
Margot was preceded in death by her parents, a grandson, Jeffrey Reynolds and her brother, Ronald Pierce.
Memorial services was held on Friday, March 10, 2017, at 5:00 p.m. at Martin Schwartz Funeral Home & Crematory, 313 Fredrick, Cassville with Father James Weighner officiating. Private family burial was held at a later date. Family and friends called on Friday from 3:00 p.m. until time of services at the funeral home. In lieu of plants and flowers, a Margot Hilde Shaben Memorial Fund has been established.
