Margaret M. Pafford, age 84, of Lancaster, joined our Lord on Friday, May 16, 2008 at Orchard Manor Nursing Home, rural Lancaster. She was born on December 19, 1923, in Madison, the daughter of Harold and Rowena (Biggin) McBurney. Margaret graduated from Bloomington High School and continued her education at the University of Wisconsin at Platteville. On October 31, 1942, she was united in marriage to James H. Pafford on the family farm at Muscallounge Road, Beetown Township. Together they farmed for thirteen and a half years on Margarets grandparents farm in the area between Beetown and North Andover. In 1956 they moved to rural Lancaster. She attended the Bethlehem E&R Church. Margaret loved anything that involved her family, working in her flower garden and traveling.
Survivors include her children: Gloria Trybe, Ft. Collins, CO; Marcia (Dennis) Vincent, Lancaster; James Jr. (Colleen) Pafford, Marquette, MI; Bernie (Valeta) Pafford, Berkley Heights, NJ; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her sister: Gertrude Oshman, Deforest; many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, a granddaughter, Angela Vincent, a great-grandson, Ryan Vincent and a sister, Barbara Harris.
Funeral services were held on Monday, June 2, 2008 at 11:00am at the Bethlehem Evangelical & Reformed Church in Lancaster with Pastor Mark Hoehne officiating. Burial was in Dodge Cemetery. Friends called on Monday, June 2, 2008 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
