Margaret Mary O'Rourke, age 94, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 2, 2021, at Morningside Assisted Living in Lancaster. She was born on October 17, 1926, in Columbus, WI, the daughter of William and Rose (Wedel) Kasper. On November 11, 1950, Margaret was united in marriage to John O'Rourke and together they owned and operated the O'Rourke Funeral Home in Lancaster from 1956 until 1986. Margaret was a member of St. Clement Catholic Church, Catholic Council of Women, Catholic Daughters, American Legion Auxiliary, and the Red Hatters. She shared her talent and love of sewing with countless people as a 4-H leader and a St. Clement Quilter.
Margaret is survived by her daughters: Mary (Tim) Block, Lancaster; Chris (Tom) Gross, Fond du Lac; Terry (John) Busby, Madison; Maureen (Steve) McCarthy, Mt. Horeb; Ann (Joe McCarthy), Madison; Amy (Karl Meyer), Flagstaff, AZ; 15 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 4 sisters: Betty Monroe; Barbara Schriver; Carol Beck, and Kathleen Kessenich.
In addition to her parents and her husband, John, Margaret was preceded in death by 5 sisters: Marion Krupp; Beatrice Boettcher; Monica Burke; Rosella Tiedt; Patricia Gibson; one brother, James; and a great-grandson, Archer Olsen.
A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Clement Catholic Church in Lancaster with Father William Vernon officiating. Private family burial will be held in St. Clement Cemetery, Lancaster. In lieu of plants and flowers, please consider making a donation in Margaret's name to Agrace Foundation, St. Clement School Endowment Fund, or Schreiner Memorial Public Library.
