Margaret J. Breuer, age 79, of Glen Haven, passed away on Thursday, July 2, 2015, at Prairie Maison in Prairie du Chien. She was born on December 22, 1935, the daughter of Edward and Frances (Crubel) Weber. Margaret married Burnell A. Breuer on February 20, 1957. They lived and farmed near Glen Haven raising their family there until 1992 when they moved to Cassville. Margaret was a very caring and giving individual. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Glen Haven and later a member of St. Charles Catholic Church in Cassville. Margaret loved keeping up with her family and their activities.
Survivors include her two daughters: Charlene Ploessl; Sharon (Dan) Speerschneider; four sons: Jeffry (Jane); Stanley (Racheal); Roger (Tina); Brian (Pam); 11 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; two sisters: Germaine Mumm; Mary Ann Harter; a brother, Gerry (Val) Weber; brothers-in-law: James (Norma Starrett) Ley; James Blum; a sister-in-law, Mary Weber.
In addition to her husband, Burnell, Margaret was preceded in death by a son-in-law, William Ploessl; a grandson, Matthew Breuer; two brothers: Virgil (Connie) and Edward Weber, Jr.; four sisters: Bernice in infancy, Kathryn Ley, Frannie Blum, and Lulu Mae (Edwin) Vogt; brothers-in-law: Vince Mumm and Robert Harter.
Funeral services were held on Monday, July 6, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Glen Haven with Father John Meinholz officiating. Burial was in Gockel Cemetery, Glen Haven. Family and friends called on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until time of services at the church. In lieu of plants and flowers, a Margaret J. Breuer Memorial Fund has been established. Martin Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Bloomington is assisting the family.
