Marcella M. Vondrum

Marcella M. Vondrum, age 97, of Cassville, passed away on Sunday, April 15, 2018, at Orchard Manor Nursing Home, rural Lancaster. She was born on June 16, 1920, in Cassville, the daughter of Fred and Cecelia (Dresen) Mumm. On April 16, 1940, Marcella was united in marriage to Joseph "Joe" Breuer at St. Charles Catholic Church in Cassville. After their marriage, the couple farmed near Bloomington. Joe preceded her in death on May 17, 1952. After Joe's death, Marcella moved to Cassville. On June 3, 1967, she was united in marriage to Harold Vondrum at St. Charles Catholic Church in Cassville. He preceded her in death on October 29, 1999. Marcella was a devoted Catholic. She loved caring for her daughter, Linda and always made sure she had everything she needed. Marcella was a very talented cook, baker, and gardener. She not only enjoyed a good game of cards, but was an excellent card player, especially 500, Euchre, and Hearts. Marcella also enjoyed traveling, fishing, and gardening.
Survivors include her children: Ronald (Sheri) Breuer; Linda Breuer; 5 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; three step-children: Loren Vondrum; Patsy (Roger) Prew; Joan (Don) Draka; 12 step-grandchildren; many step-great and step great-great grandchildren; one sister, Delores (Pete) Kirschbaum; sisters-in-law, Clara Mumm, Dorothy Mumm and Alvina Mumm; other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, and her husbands, Joe Breuer and Harold Vondrum, Marcella was preceded in death by her son, Maurice Breuer; siblings: Loren Mumm, Hilda Breuer, Donald Mumm, and Cyrill Mumm.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, April 20, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Charles Catholic Church in Cassville with Father John Meinholz officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Settlement Cemetery, Cassville. Family and friends may call on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the church. Martin Schwartz Funeral Home & Crematory in Cassville is serving the family.
