Mabel M. Sudmeier, age 93, of Lancaster, died on Tuesday, August 16, 2011, at Grant Regional Health Center, Lancaster. She was born on May 12, 1918, in Cuba City, the daughter of Henry and Bertha (Kall) Schulte. Mabel attended school in Cuba City. On January 8, 1946, she was united in marriage to Edwin Sudmeier at St. Marys Catholic Church in Bloomington. Mabel was employed with the Bloomington School System as a cook for many years. She and her husband enjoyed dancing and Mabel loved to go out to eat and play euchre. Mabel was an avid sports fan and was a member of St. Clement Catholic Church.

Survivors include her brother, Robert (Nancy) Schulte, Nebraska; three sisters-in-law: Lorraine Lee, Marie Knutson, and Betty Sudmeier all of Platteville; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Mabel was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin on June 20, 2005, and nine brothers and sisters.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, August 18, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Clement Catholic Church in Lancaster with Father William Seipp officiating. Burial was in St. Marys Cemetery, Bloomington. Family and friends called on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until time of services at the church. Schwartz Funeral Home in Lancaster is assisting the family.
