Lureen A. Hore, age 67, of Lancaster, died on Monday, November 22, 2010, at Lancaster Care Center. She was born on November 2, 1943 in Lancaster, the daughter of George and Susie (Benoy) Burns. Lureen graduated from Lancaster High School in 1961. She furthered her education in Milwaukee to become a legal secretary. On February 24, 1966, Lureen was united in marriage to Eugene Gene F. Hore in Minnesota. Lureen loved her job as a legal secretary for Morse and Roggensack Attorneys in Lancaster until her retirement on July 1, 2007. She was a member of the Lancaster United Methodist Church. Lureen enjoyed quilting with her many friends, reading, and working on family genealogy.
Survivors include three children: Alan (Vicki) Hore, Lancaster; Amy (Scott) Wolbers, Naples, FL; Sara (Bob) Jones, Dodgeville; five grandchildren: Andrea and Emily Wolbers, Victoria Hore, Taylor Ore, and Tristan Jones; her brother, Richard (Nola) Burns, Lancaster; three sisters-in-law, Grace (Matt) Lorscheter, Cassville; Josephine Faherty, Burnsville, MN; Harriet Burback, Platteville; three brothers-in-law, Virgil Kelly, Potosi; Del Schuster, and James (Mary) Hore, all of Lancaster; many nieces and nephews and many friends.
Lureen was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Gene on October 8, 2009; four sisters, Dorothy Collins, Irene Kelly, Patricia Kress, and Nancy Schuster; five brothers, Virgil, Clarence, and Orville Burns; Forrest and Fred Fritz.
Funeral services were held on Friday, November 26, 2010, at 12:30 p.m. at the Lancaster United Methodist Church with Pastor Barbara Cook officiating. Burial was held at a later date. Friends called on Friday, November 26, 2010, from 9:30 a.m. until time of services at the church. Schwartz Funeral Home in Lancaster is in charge of the arrangements.
