Lulu Mae Blackbourn, age 93, of Prairie du Chien, died on Tuesday, August 31, 2010 in Wabasha, MN. She was born on March 26, 1917, at Beetown Township, the daughter of Floyd and Mildred (Ball) Pascoe. On December 10, 1936, Lulu Mae was united in marriage to Carlyle A. Blackbourn in Galena, IL. After their marriage, the couple farmed near Bagley. After selling their farm, they purchased a shoe store in Bloomington and retiring many years later. In later years, they moved to Prairie du Chien.
Lulu Mae is survived by her children: Gloria Gilbert, Queen Creek AZ; Connie (Charles) Walling, Tempe, AZ; Dixie Kay (Dennis) Breuer, Wabasha, MN; eight grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carlyle on April 21, 2007; her parents; a granddaughter, Robyn Younker in 1981, a great grandson, Terrell Breuer in 1993, a great granddaughter, Amelia Breuer, her brother, Mahlon Pascoe; two sisters: Violet Bedward and Ivanelle LaMere and a son-in-law, Dean Gilbert.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, September 4, 2010, at 1:00 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Bloomington with Rev. Mary Ann Floerke officiating. Burial was in Dodge Cemetery, Beetown Township. Friends were welcome on Saturday, September 4 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
