Luella M. Damm

LANCASTER – Luella Myra (Pierce) Damm, age 97, of Lancaster passed away on Monday, October 16, 2017, at Atrium Post Acute Care in Lancaster. She was born on June 30, 1920, in Cassville, the daughter of Charles and Gertrude (Kirschbaum) Pierce. In 1922, she moved with her family from Cassville to a farm in South Lancaster Township. On April 8, 1942, Luella married Carl Damm and together they farmed in South Lancaster Township until 1953 when they moved to Lancaster. Carl passed away on February 8, 1983.
Survivors include her two sons: David (Laura) Damm and Larry (Jackie) Damm, all of Lancaster; five grandchildren: Stacey (Ron Palmer) Damm, La Valle, WI; Mathew (Beth) Damm, Ferrelview, MO; Mark (Heather) Damm, Hazel Green, WI; Amy (Dan) Klein, Lancaster, WI; Jason (Kerri) Damm, Ft. Atkinson, WI; 13 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, special friend, Leonard Saxe; other relatives and many friends.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Luella was preceded in death by her siblings: LeRoy Pierce, Louis (Helen) Pierce, Elizabeth (Clarence Nehls) (Donald) VanNatta; Rocelia "Ceal" (Herbert) Pagel.
Private family grave side services will be held at Hillside Cemetery, Lancaster. In lieu of plants and flowers, a Luella M. Damm Memorial Fund has been established. Martin Schwartz Funeral Home & Crematory in Lancaster is entrusted with her care.
