Lucille M. Vogt, age 90, passed away on Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at Mercy Hospital in Dubuque, IA. She was born October 10, 1922, daughter of Julius and Augusta (Ertz) Vorwald. She graduated from Bloomington High School. Lucille and her husband Eugene Vogt farmed outside of Bloomington for 40 years. They retired to the village of Bloomington in 1979.
She married Eugene Vogt on November 10, 1942 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bloomington. She belonged to St. Mary's Catholic Church, Senior Citizens, and the Catholic Daughters of America. She also played cards with a group of ladies every week since 1979. Her favorite hobby was quilting and she made several quilts with ladies in their homes for her family. Lucille also got a 1st on one of her quilts at a show on her 80th birthday! She did a lot of traveling with her husband and friends.
Lucille was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Vogt in 1994, her parents, two brothers, Edwin and Raymond Vorwald, her stepmother, Lena Vorwald, two sons, an infant son in 1943 and Kenneth Vogt, 1980.
Survivors include her four children, Sharon (Bill) Stoeffler, Gary Vogt, Elaine (Doug) Olson & Debra (Lynn) Myers; twelve grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held on Friday, March 22, 2013, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Marys Catholic Church in Bloomington with Father John Meinholz officiating. Burial was in St. Marys Cemetery, Bloomington. Family and friends called on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until time of services at the church. Martin Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Bloomington is serving the family.
