Louise V. Shelton

Louise V. Shelton, age 83, of Lancaster, died on Sunday, May 22, 2011, at Grant Regional Health Center in Lancaster. She was born on February 14, 1928, in Oakes, ND, the daughter of Jack and Jeanette (Garland) Turner. In 1958, Louise was united in marriage to Terrance Shelton. After their marriage, the couple farmed in Oakes, ND. The couple moved to Des Moines, IA, in 1969, where she was employed as a cook. Louise relocated to Grant County in 2007. She enjoyed quilting, going to casinos, and helping her daughter in her doll business. Louise loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her children: Bob (Donna) Shelton, Lincoln, ND; Valeria (Cecil) Shelton, Des Moines, IA; Raymond Shelton, Stitzer, WI; ten grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and one sister, Delores Beaver, Forman, ND.

In addition to her parents, Louise was preceded in death by an infant son, John, a daughter, Vera Burgess, a grandson, Troy Burgess, three sisters and one brother.

At Louises request there was no services. Private family burial will be at a later date. Schwartz Funeral Home in Lancaster is assisting the family.
