Louis J. Haas, age 74, of Cassville, died on Saturday, March 28, 2009, at Orchard Manor Nursing Home, rural Lancaster. He was born on November 12, 1934, in Cassville, the son of Arch and Rose (Reding) Haas. Louis graduated from Cassville High School in 1952. He entered the United States Army and served his country in Germany from 1957 until 1959. Louis was in construction and helped build many United States Post Offices throughout the Midwest. He was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church in Cassville and also enjoyed a good game of cards.
Survivors include his brothers and sisters: Norman (Patricia) Haas, Cassville; Francis Haas, Cassville; Monroe (Dorothy) Haas, Bloomington; Bernice (Stuart) Kelper, Amhurst; Helen Haas, Middleton; Ruth (David) Schreiner, Deerfield; sister-in-law, Ruth Haas, Cassville; many nieces and nephews.
Louis was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Maurice and Laverne.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, March 31, 2009, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Charles Catholic Church in Cassville with Father William Seipp officiating. Burial with military honors was held in St. Charles Cemetery, Cassville. Friends called on Monday, March 30, 2009, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home in Cassville and from 9:30 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
