Lorraine M. Klaas, age 86, of Lancaster, died on Wednesday, September 11, 2013, at Orchard Manor Nursing Home in Lancaster. Lorraine (Moore) Klaas was born on February 17, 1927, in Little Grant Township, daughter of Harley and Leone (Ames) Moore. She married Floyd Klaas on November 25, 1947 in Lancaster. Lorraine enjoyed playing cards and hearing from her family and friends. She supported Floyd with the Klaas Floor Covering business, and was a realtor in Mesa, AZ, before returning to Lancaster.
Surviving are her children: Ray (Joyce) Klaas of Lancaster; Mary (William) Wisneski of Mesa, AZ; Kathleen (Donald) Lau of Cassville; Ken (Jane) Klaas of Lancaster; Bill (Cindy) Klaas of Lancaster; and John (Tammy) Klaas of Mineral Point. Her siblings: Allen (Mary) Moore, Harley Joe (Vivian) Moore, Judy (Charlie) Kuenster, Larry (Peggy) Moore, Linda (Ted) Wilson, and two sisters-in-law, Katie Klaas and Alice Moore. Lorraine had 17 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd, her parents Harley and Leone Moore, father and mother in-law Aloys and Elizabeth (Lange) Klaas, her daughter and son-in-law, Dixie and Dennis Lau, granddaughter, Kim Myers (daughter of Ray and Joyce), siblings: Gereld and Betty Jo Moore, Johnnie and Evelyn Moore, Paul Moore, and in-laws: Orlin and Eldeen Klaas, Harold and Lilas Klaas, Aelred Klaas, Earl and Marjorie Klaas, and Tom and Marian Bowers.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Friday, September 13, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Clement Catholic Church in Lancaster with Father John Sasse officiating. Burial was in St. Clement Cemetery, Lancaster. Family and friends called on Friday morning from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Schwartz Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 142 W. Oak, in Lancaster.
