Loris K. Paulus, age 72, of Bloomington, died on Thursday, September 15, 2011, at Grant Regional Health Center in Lancaster. She was born on February 4, 1939, in Mt. Ida Township, the daughter of John R. and Hattie M. (McGraw) Clark. She graduated from Mt. Hope High School in 1956. On September 19, 1957, Loris was united in marriage to Charles J. Paulus at St. Marys Catholic Church, Bloomington. She was employed as a secretary for Hermsen Hardware Store for thirty years, retiring in January of 2009. Loris was a member of St. Marys Catholic Church and was a chairperson for various activities the church held. She enjoyed singing, playing the piano, cooking, gardening, playing cards, walking and bowling. Loris also enjoyed going for rides with her husband. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and attending her grandchildrens activities.

Survivors include her loving husband, Charles Paulus, Bloomington; children: Dennis (Judy) Paulus, Bloomington; Kris (Jeff) Reuter, Lancaster; John (Cathie) Paulus, Chisago City, MN; Jo Marie (Bill) Moore, Dubuque, IA; Cynthia Paulus, Clear Lake, IA; son-in-law, Mark Moris, Bloomington; ten grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; sisters: Rosemary (Neil) Kuenster, Lancaster; Sharon (John) Fassbender, Middleton; sister-in-law, Jeanette Clark, Prairie du Chien; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.

Loris was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Amy Moris, and her brothers, Harry and Royce Clark.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, September 20, 2011, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Marys Catholic Church in Bloomington with Father John Meinholz officiating. Burial was in St. Marys Cemetery, Bloomington. Family and friends called on Monday, September 19, 2011, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. where a 3:45 p.m. scripture service was held at St. Marys Catholic Church. Friends also called on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until time of services all at the church. In lieu of plants and flowers, a Loris K. Paulus Memorial Fund has been established. Martin Funeral Home in Bloomington is assisting the family.
