Loretta R. Manuel

Loretta R. Manuel, age 94, of Platteville, died on Saturday, January 15, 2011, at Our House Assisted Living, Platteville. She was born on February 29, 1916, in Platteville, the daughter of Thomas and Ellenora (Schroeder) Manuel. Loretta graduated from Platteville High School. She was employed at O'Neill's Shoe Store, Schultz's Department Store and the A&P Store, all in Platteville. Loretta was a lifetime member of First English Lutheran Church in Platteville. She loved to crochet and sew and enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading and fishing.

Survivors include a nephew, Paul Manuel, Florida; dear friends, Rinda (Charlie) Bahr, Laura (Bob) Donner, Anita (Wayne) Carns, all of Platteville; and several cousins.

In addition to her parents, Loretta was preceded in death by her brother, Carl (Delores) Manuel.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, January 18, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at First English Lutheran Church in Platteville with Pastor Michael Short officiating. Burial was in Hillside Cemetery, Platteville. Family and friends called on Tuesday, January 18, 2011, from 9:00 a.m. until time of services at the church. Martin Schwartz Funeral Home in Platteville is assisting the family.
