Linda I. Swartzbaugh age 95, formerly of Cassville, passed away on February 16, 2016 at Manor Care Nursing Home in Platteville. She was born on April 14, 1920 in Hancock, WI to Edward and Francis (Novak) Scharf. Linda married Emil Hartwig in 1937. She later divorced Emil and married Curtis Swartzbaugh on September 14, 1958. They lived in Chicago for 38 years. They moved to Cassville in 1997, to be closer to family. She enjoyed bowling, baking apple pies, tending to her flowers, watching The Price is Right, and watching the Chicago Cubs.
Linda is survived by a daughter-in-law, Kathy Hartwig of Auburndale, WI (formerly Cassville); a grandson, Bob (Katie) Hartwig of Arpin, WI (formerly of Cassville); and two great grandchildren, Curtis and Carrieann Hartwig of Arpin. Linda is further survived by Russel (Sharon) Sahlin of Turlock, CA; a sister, Janet (Jim) Wright; and many nieces and nephews.
She was proceeded in death by her parents; her first husband, Emil Hartwig; second husband, Curtis Swartzbaugh; a son, Robert Hartwig; one brother and four sisters; and two nephews and two nieces.
Visitation was held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Saturday, February 27, 2016 at Martin Funeral Home in Cassville, followed by graveside services at Cassville Cemetery with Rev. Jim McMahon officiating. Martin Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cassville is assisting the family.
