Lila M. Jerrett

LANCASTER – Lila M. Jerrett, age 100, of Lancaster, passed away Friday, November 25, 2022, at her home. She was born November 11, 1922, the daughter of Herbert and Louise (Weigel) Austin. Lila graduated from the Platteville rural school in 1940. On December 24, 1945, she was united in marriage to Stanley “Buck” Jerrett in Platteville. Together they farmed on the Jerrett Family Farm in North Lancaster Township for over 75 years. Lila was a homemaker and enjoyed life on the farm. She had a large garden and raised ducks and chickens. Lila even had a pet goose. She was a devoted member of the Belmont Congregation of Jehovah’s Witness.

Surviving is her sons: Wayne (Pat), Roger (Cheri) and Randy (Sharon) Jerrett; 11 grandchildren; and many great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband Stanley, Lila was preceded in death by a son: Mark; a daughter: Julie; and her brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 2, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Martin Schwartz Funeral Home & Crematory in Lancaster with Craig Rose officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery. Family and friends may call on Friday, December 2, 2022, from 9:00 am until time of services at the funeral home. In lieu of plants and flowers, a Lila M. Jerrett memorial fund has been established with proceeds being given to the Lancaster EMS.
