LeRoy H. Schauff

LeRoy H. Schauff, age 88, of Cassville, died on Sunday, July 6, 2008, at Grant Regional Health Center in Lancaster. He was born on July 30, 1919, in Cassville, the son of Joseph and Christine (Kirschbaum) Schauff. On June 28, 1952, he married Patricia Groom in Cassville. LeRoy and Patricia just celebrated their 56^th wedding anniversary. LeRoy farmed in the Cassville area all of his life. LeRoy was a jack-of-all-trades. He enjoyed playing cards, shooting pool, and fishing. He loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia of Cassville; five children: Phyllis (Eugene) Adrian, Cassville; Michael (Darlene) Schauff, Cassville; Mary (Dan) Worsham, Moscow, ID; Ellen (Loren) Adrian, Cassville; Eric (Janet) Schauff, Lancaster; 13 grandchildren; Doug (Jenny) Adrian, Tulsa, OK; Jeff (Pam) Adrian, Cassville; Emily (Adam) Brandl, Rochester, MN; Kevin (Dawn) Schauff, Mt. Hope; David (Kari) Schauff, Cassville; Barb Schauff, Bloomington; Stephanie Schauff, Verona; Christy (Ryan) Gunderson, Moscow, ID; Tina (Ben) Rost, Colville, WA; Corey Adrian, Cassville; Kim Adrian, Heidi Schauff, and Ryan Schauff all of Lancaster; 10.5 great-grandchildren: Kaleb, Kayleena, and Maverick Schauff, Mt. Hope; Carson Adrian, Tulsa, OK; Noah and Jocelyn Adrian, Cassville; Tiffany and Jessica Gunderson, Moscow, ID; Ashley and Lily Rost, Colville, WA; and soon to arrive, baby Schauff, Cassville; one sister, Marie McCann, Cassville; two brothers-in-law, Harold Richards, Dubuque, IA; Louis (Norma) Groom, Cassville; sister-in-law, Margaret Schauff, Cassville.

In addition to his parents, LeRoy was preceded in death by a grandson, Brian Adrian; brothers and sisters: Lawrence (Dorothy) Schauff, Roselia (Maurice) Unterscheidt, Alice (Kenneth) Ritenour, Eunice Richards, Leonard (Frances) Schauff, Clarence Schauff, Esther (Earl) Hiatt; and a brother-in-law, Pat McCann.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, July 10, 2008, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Charles Catholic Church in Cassville with Father William Seipp officiating. Burial was in St. Marys Settlement Cemetery, Cassville Township. Family and friends called on Wednesday, July 9, 2008, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home in Cassville. Family and friends also called on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home. In lieu of plants and flowers, memorials may be given to St Marys Settlement Cemetery, Cassville Rescue Squad and Fire Department.
