Lawrence A Klein

Lawrence A. Klein, age 81, of Cassville, died on Thursday, January 10, 2019, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on March 19, 1937, in Cassville, the son of Leonard and Esther (Clauer) Klein. Lawrence graduated from Cassville High School in 1955. He was united in marriage to Joan Dechow on September 8, 1962, in Waterloo Township. Lawrence worked hard to support his family doing construction, owning his own milk route, and found his niche in life at Grant County Farm, where he worked for over 22 years as the farm manager. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and of course playing pool and shaking dice with the boys. He loved his family and friends dearly.

Survivors include his children: Vicki (Robert) Gengler, Lancaster; Michelle (Don) Bennett, Lancaster; Dave (Rochelle) Klein, Athens; Shawn (Jennifer) Klein, Denver, CO; Annette (Terry) Koeller, Cassville; and Dan (Michelle) Klein, Lancaster; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; his siblings: Maurice (Mayre) Klein, Cassville; Steve (Sharon) Klein, Cassville; Ramona Summers, Lone Rock; many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Lawrence was preceded in death by his wife, Joan in 2011; a brother, Robert Klein; his great-grandson, Andrew Bahl; his father and mother-in law William and Mary Dechow; sister-in law, Barbera Klein; and brothers-in law: Calvin Dechow, Robert Dechow, and Fred Sommers.

A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, January 20, 2019, from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at J&J Sandbar in Cassville. Private family burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Lancaster. Martin Schwartz Funeral Home & Crematory in Lancaster is serving the family.
