Laura S. Meir

Laura S. Meir, age 68, of Lancaster, passed away Thursday, July 15, 2021, at Orchard Manor Nursing Home in Lancaster. She was born on June 28, 1953, in Lancaster, the daughter of Frank A. and Suzanne (Loy) Meir. Laura graduated from Lancaster High School in 1972 and from Southwest Vocational-Technical Institute (now SWTC) in 1973 from the one-year culinary program. She worked for several years in the food industry in Madison. In 1978 she moved back to Lancaster and worked at LCC a few years, then went to work for people in their homes as a personal care worker until she was unable to work.
Survivors include her sisters and brothers: Barbara, Rose, Frank, and John Meir all of Lancaster; Robert of Fennimore; Diane of Stewartville, MN; and Ralph (Anna) Meir of Superior.
In addition to her parents, Laura was preceded in death by both maternal and paternal grandparents: Leon (Ole) and Polly (Grant) Loy; Leroy and Lela (Richardson) Meir.
Our family would like to thank Orchard Manor and their staff for the care they have given Laura over the years.
Private Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery Lancaster, WI. A visitation will be held May 15, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Martin Schwartz Funeral Home & Crematory in Lancaster, with a Memorial Service held at 12:00 p.m. Noon.
