Kristalyn Kris Jean Sitts, age 40, of Lancaster, joined her Heavenly Father on Saturday, June 12, 2010, at St. Marys Hospital in Madison, due to complications from cardiomyopathy. Kris was born on February 24, 1970, in Lancaster, the daughter of James and Nola Jean (Shanley) Sitts. She graduated from Lancaster High School in 1988, and later graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. Kris was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Lancaster. Her hobby was designing and creating Sugar Britches porcelain dolls. Kris loved her pets and had a big heart for all less fortunate. Her great sense of humor and gentle, caring ways will be dearly missed.
Survivors include her mother, Nola Sitts, Lancaster; her brother: Brian (Becky) Sitts, their daughter, Kylee, all of Hazel Green; her dogs, Gabby and Gracie, who were the love of her life; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Kris was preceded in death by her father, James Sitts, who died of cardiomyopathy on April 2, 2003, her maternal grandparents: Harold and Erma Shanley, and her paternal grandparents, George and Delphine Sitts.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, June 17, 2010, at Schwartz Funeral Home in Lancaster at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Mark Hoehne officiating. Burial was in Hillside Cemetery, Lancaster. Family and friends called on Wednesday, June 16, 2010, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Schwartz Funeral Home in Lancaster and on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until time of services. In lieu of plants and flowers, a Kristalyn J. Sitts memorial fund has been established.
