Kimberly K. Nickel, age 54, of Beetown, passed away from cardiac complications on Friday, April 8, 2016, at Grant Regional Health Center, Lancaster. She was born on July 26, 1961, the daughter of Clinton and Judith (Gabel) Hutchcroft. Kim graduated from Lancaster High School in 1979. She worked various jobs throughout her life, Rapid Die & Molding in Cassville, Fendall of Platteville, and at Nosco in Gurney, IL. On August 28, 1997, she married Jeffrey P. Nickel. Kim's courage and determination as a breast cancer survivor was remarkable to us all. Her memory will live on in our hearts forever.

Survivors include her husband, Jeff; three sons: Jonathan (Heather) Marrone; Jered and Jake Nickel; two grandchildren: Trevor and Brooklyn Marrone; her mother, Judith (Frederick) Moon; sisters: Jacqueline (Greg) Block; Suzette (William) Waters; Robin (Kurt) Bohndorf; father and mother-in-law, Ralph (Diane) Nickel; siblings: Makila Small; Mitchell Moon; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and her fur baby, Lola.

She was preceded in death by her father, Clinton; and his parents, Ray (Hannah) Hutchcroft; maternal grandparents, Donald (Dorothy) Gabel; a step-son, Gregory White.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, April 13, 2016, at 11:30 a.m. at the Beetown Township Hall with Reverend Mark Hoehne officiating. Private family burial will be in the Beetown Cemetery, Beetown. Family and friends called on Tuesday, April 12, 2016, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Beetown Township Hall and on Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. until time of services. In lieu of plants and flowers, a Kimberly K. Nickel Memorial Fund has been established. Schwartz Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Lancaster is assisting the family.
