Kathryn Robinson

Katherine A. Robinson, age 102, of Cassville, died Thursday, August 4, 2016, at Atrium Post Acute Care in Lancaster. Katherine was born on March 26, 1914 in Cassville, the daughter Glen & Mary (Thomas) Ashlock. She attended Cassville public schools and graduated in 1932. Katherine married Sherwood Robinson on October 7, 1933. They traveled along the Mississippi River, following Sherwood's job. She lived in Chicago, Rock Island and Fort Wayne.

Katherine was active in high school and played basketball, and piano for students to march out of study hall. She owned the Sherry Frock Shop for many years, as well as the IGA grocery store in Cassville. She and Sherwood raised birds for sale, and ran Teen Hops as hobbies. Katherine traveled through all fifty states, plus she visited Mexico, Canada, and Jamaica. She was a member of the Cassville Methodist Church, Order of the Eastern Star, and the Cassville Women's Club.

Katherine is survived by her daughter, Sherry Schauff; a grandson, Sean Schauff; twin great-grandchildren, Sage & Shelby Schauff; and many nieces & nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Sherwood; her parents; and her sister, Audery Benish.

Funeral Services were held at 11:00 am on Thursday, August 11, 2016, at Martin Funeral Home in Cassville, with Rev. Mary Ann Floerke officiating. Burial was in Cassville Cemetery. Friends called an hour prior to services Thursday at the funeral home.
