Kathleen Kathy Sadewasser-Kelley, age 55, of Dubuque, died Friday, November 16, 2012, at her home under the care of Hospice of Dubuque. Kathy was born in Dubuque on May 19, 1957, a daughter of Donald and Darlene (Jaeggi) Dean.
She worked as a nurse at several tri-state facilities, was a co-owner of MB Travel and Suzannes Tanning, and plowed snow during the winter months. After Hurricane Katrina, Kathy coordinated the largest tri-state relief effort ever.
Kathy enjoyed playing pool, cooking, traveling. She loved summer as it allowed for friends and family to gather around her makeshift fire pit, weeding in her garden full of maters, and spending time on the water boating and fishing. She never forgot about her time with the Matadors. She was proud of her colors and the bonds she made.
Kathy is survived by her husband, Steve Kelley; her three children, Arica (Justin) Pollard, Joshua (Alicia Boll) McAuliffe, and Mitchell (April) McAuliffe; three step-children, Keith (Maria) Kelley and Kristy (Mike) Banwarth and Emmy Kringle; three grandchildren, Keira, Maverick & Gus; grandmother, Della Jaeggi; her siblings, Paul (Kristy) Dean, Marilyn (Chuck) Housner, Dave (Kay) Dean, Debbie (Chuck) Lange, and Rita (Curt) McMahon; and many nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives & friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, James Dean; and her dog, Sparky.
Funeral Services were held at 11 am on Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at the Free Methodist Church in Platteville, with pastors Jeff Suits and Jim McMahon officiating. Burial was in St. Andrew Cemetery in Tennyson. Friends called from 5 pm to 8 pm on Monday, November 19 at the Free Methodist Church, and one hour prior to the service at church on Tuesday. Martin Schwartz Funeral Home in Platteville is handling arrangements.
