June E. Curley, age 84, of Lancaster, died Saturday, August 18, 2012, at Orchard Manor in Lancaster. She was born on June 19, 1928, in Hurricane Township, the daughter of Clyde and Carrie (Ellis) Jackson. June graduated from Lancaster High School in 1945. On November 29, 1947, she was united in marriage to Paul Curley. After their marriage the couple resided in Lancaster, where June provided child care in their home. She had a special love for the children she cared for. June was a member of St. Clement Catholic Church in Lancaster. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, quilting, and going to garage sales. June also enjoyed collecting bears, frogs and green glass. Her greatest joy was her family.
June is survived by her children: Steve (Jen Salt) Curley, Madison; Cindy (Tom) Martens, Platteville; Kathleen Curley, Lancaster; Bruce (Linda) Curley, Browerville, MN; Paula (Dick) Champion, Fennimore; Richard (Mary) Curley, Madison; Lisa Cargill, Platteville; Amy (Doug) Noble, Lancaster; Jo Roling, Platteville; nineteen grandchildren; several step-grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; a brother, Clifford (Rosemary) Jackson; other relatives and many friends.
In addition to her parents, June was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Curley; a son-in-law, Ron Roling; a great-granddaughter, Josie Marie; and her sisters, Bernice and Delores.
Funeral Services were held at 11:00 am on Friday, August 24, 2012, at St. Clement Catholic Church in Lancaster with Father William Seipp officiating. Burial was in Boice Prairie Cemetery, Potosi Township. Family and friends called on Thursday, August 23, 2012, from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Schwartz Funeral Home in Lancaster, and one hour prior to services at the church on Friday.
