Julia L. Raisbeck, age 85 of Lancaster, passed away Friday, March 31, 2017 at Orchard Manor Nursing Home. She was born May 26, 1931 the daughter of Adolph and Olga (Janisch) Juhnke. Julia met the love of her life, Raymond L. Raisbeck, while he was employed at the General Motors Plant in Janesville. They married on July 25, 1948 at Mount Calvary Church in Janesville. In 1949 Raymond and Julia moved to the Beetown area. Together they farmed for 50 years as the third generation of the Raisbeck Family Farm. Julia was a devoted Christian member of the Beetown Gospel Hall. She enjoyed visiting with her many friends, and loved keeping up with her family and their activities.
Surviving are her children; Ruth Ann (Kenneth) Blackbourn, Kenneth (Judy) Raisbeck, Susan (Ron) Kirschbaum, Rick (Deb) Raisbeck, and Kathy (Chris Novotny) Raisbeck, nine grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, a brother Duane (Diane) Juhnke, two brother in laws; Norman (Carol) Raisbeck, and Frank Gulcynski, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband Raymond, and a sister, Eldora Gulcynski.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Martin Schwartz Funeral Home & Crematory in Lancaster with Mr. Roy Weber officiating. Burial was in Dodge Cemetery, Beetown Township. Family and friends called on Monday, April 3, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Martin Schwartz Funeral Home & Crematory 1234 South Madison Street in Lancaster, and on Tuesday morning from 9:00 a.m. until time of services. In lieu of plants and flowers, a Julia L. Raisbeck Memorial Fund has been established.
