Julia M. McCabe

 Julia M. (Vondran) McCabe, age 102, of Platteville, WI, died Wednesday, May 23, 2012, at the Southwest Healthcare Center Nursing Home in Cuba City, WI.

Julia was born on May 15, 1910 in Dickeyville , WI , a daughter of Carl and Mary (Lange) Vondran. She married Joseph I. McCabe on June 14, 1927, in Hazel Green, WI.

Julia is survived by two sons, Clifford and Gerald (Connie) McCabe, both of Platteville; a daughter, Arlene VanNatta of Platteville; 16 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; 38 great-great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives & friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph in 1997; her parents; 2 sisters; 4 brothers; a son in infancy, Joseph; son-in-law, Verlin VanNatta; daughter-in-law, Beverly McCabe; grandson-in-law, William Bourassa; and a great-great grandchild, Jackson Kamps.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10:30 am on Saturday, May 26, 2012, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Platteville, with Fr. Faustino Ruiz celebrating the Mass. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery in Platteville. Visitation was from 4 to 7 pm on Friday, May 25, 2012, at Martin Schwartz Funeral Home in Platteville, a Prayer Service at 4:00 p.m., and one hour prior to service Saturday at the church.

In lieu of flowers, a Julia McCabe Memorial Fund has been established.
