LANCASTER - Judy May Brodel, age 81, died surrounded by her loving family on June 17, 2024, at Aspirus Hospital in Wausau, Wisconsin. Judy was born on September 19, 1942, to Emil and Avis Loether in Milwaukee Wisconsin. She was married to Elmer Olmstead on October 10th, 1959, from that union she had three children, LaVern (Mary) Olmstead, Hudson MA; David (Janet) Olmstead, Viroqua WI; Diana (Darwin) Place Brunow, Mosinee WI. In 1972, she married Earl Troxel. She later married the love of her life, John Brodel, in 1995. Judy was extremely talented and had many hobbies, including sewing, cooking, crocheting, and gardening, but her true passion was spending time with her family.
She is survived by her children; a brother, Emil (Nancy) Loether, Pardeeville, WI; two sisters: Ilene Hammond, St. Augustine FL, and Carol Maag, Viroqua WI; two stepchildren: Lorri Lotan and Robin (Jean) Troxel; two adopted daughters: Deb and Becky Morgan-Meckelberg; and was a loving grandmother to 10 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
She is proceeded in death by her parents; husband’s: Earl and John; a son-in-law, Curt Place; brothers-in-law: Leonard Hammond and Alvin Maag.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, June 23, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. at Martin Schwartz Funeral Home & Crematory in Lancaster. Burial will be held at Hillside Cemetery, Lancaster, Wisconsin. Family and friends may call on Sunday from 10:00am until the time of services at the funeral home. Martin Schwartz Funeral Home & Crematory in Lancaster is assisting the family.
