Judith M. Noel

Judith M. Noel, age 61, of Lancaster, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, December 15, 2010. She was born on February 10, 1949, the daughter of Lavern and Dorothy (Buss) Noel in Dubuque, IA. Judy graduated from Cassville High School in 1966. She was employed as a Registered Nurse for many years at Orchard Manor Nursing Home in Lancaster, where she truly made a difference in the lives of the elderly and those with special needs. In her free time, she enjoyed reading, knitting, and crocheting. Judy loved being outdoors tending to her flower and vegetable gardens. Judy’s mothering skills went beyond her children. Through the years, Judy has raised and nurtured numerous cats, cherishing their constant companionship.

Survivors include her four children: Adam (Mindy) Markus, Johnson Creek; Luke (Jill) Markus, Madison; Isaac Markus, Minocqua; and Anne (Mark) Nelson, St. Peter, MN; two brothers, Tom (Karen) Noel, DeSoto; John (Deb) Noel, Beetown; her sister, Brenda (Dennis) Watters, Lancaster; her granddaughter, Maggie Markus; brothers-in-law, Donnie Pennekamp, Lancaster; Dennis Caley, Cuba City; nieces, nephews, and many special friends.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents, her step-father, Donald Oates, her son, Jeff, her sisters, Joyce Pennekamp and Suzanne Caley and her brother, Steven Noel.

A Celebration of Judy’s life was held on Sunday, December 19, 2010, from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at the Youth and Agriculture Building in Lancaster. Private family burial will be at a later date.
