Joy Ann Christensen

LANCASTER – Joy Ann Christensen, age 82, of Muscoda, formerly of Lancaster, passed away on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at Home with a Heart in Muscoda, with her sister by her side. She was born on December 17, 1941, in rural Beetown Township, the daughter of Neal M. and Cecelia M. (Wade) Christensen. Joy worked at Southwest Opportunities Center and volunteered at the Lancaster Care Center. There could be no greater name for the person who brought “Joy” to all those that were blessed to know her. Joy’s child-like innocence was endearing. We can learn so much from her delight in simple pleasures, her love for God’s creatures, and her unselfish and giving nature, often in the form of her crocheted or knitted treasures which were shared with many. Joy loved family gatherings. Her gift of love was truly special, unmatched, and irreplaceable. She will be greatly missed.

In addition to her parents, Joy was preceded in death by her siblings and their spouses: Neal (Winifred) Christensen, Jr., Marlin (Irene) Christensen, Grace (Tom) Giesen, Darlene (Don) Giesen, and Jerry Lee Christensen.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sister, Bea Sue (Wayne) Martin and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Private family graveside services will be held at Beetown Cemetery, Beetown, at a later date.
