Joslin L. Howen, age 4, of Lancaster, died of natural causes on Thursday, October 6, 2011, at her home. She was bornon January 11, 2007, in Dodgeville, the daughter of Timothy and Melissa (Hocking) Howen. Joslin attended 4K and Early Childhood at Winskill Elementary School in Lancaster. She attended church and Sunday school at the Lancaster United Methodist Church. Joslin loved to fish and play with her favorite dolly.
Survivors include her parents; her brother, Elliott Howen; her grandparents: Steve (Kathryn) Hocking, Geraldine Wieczorek, and Richard Howen; her great-grandmothers: Carol Hocking and Arlene Mauk; aunts, uncles and cousins.
Joslin was preceded in death by her great-grandfathers: Harold Hocking and Fred Mauk.
Funeral services were held on Monday, October 10, 2011, at 10:30 a.m. at the Lancaster United Methodist Church with Reverend Barbara Cook officiating. Burial was in Hillside Cemetery, Lancaster. Family and friends called on Sunday, October 9, 2011, from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Schwartz Funeral Home in Lancaster and on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until time of services at the church. In lieu of plants and flowers a Joslin L. Howen Memorial Fund has been established.
