John P. Meir

John P. Meir, age 57, of Lancaster, passed away at St Mary’s Hospital Rochester, MN after a short illness on Wednesday, October 13, 2021. He was born in Lancaster, WI on February 26, 1964, to Suzanne (Loy) and Frank A. Meir. John graduated from Lancaster High School in 1982 and went to Agriculture Short Course at University of Wisconsin-Madison for one year and later to SWTC for butchering.
John farmed with his brothers until 2013 when he went to work off the farm. The last few years he has worked at Nu-Pak in Boscobel, WI.
Survivors include his siblings: Barbara, Rose, Frank all of Lancaster; Robert, Boscobel; Diane, Stewartville, MN, and Ralph (Anna Davey), Superior.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Suzanne and Frank and a sister, Laura.
Private burial will be at Hillside Cemetery in Lancaster, WI. A visitation will be held May 15, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Martin Schwartz Funeral Home & Crematory in Lancaster, with a Memorial Service held at 12:00 p.m. Noon.
